Sprouting & Microgreen Seeds

The organic seeds we use for sprouts and microgreens on the farm โ€” high germination, tested quality, grown right.

Microgreens and sprouts are the highest-value crops per square foot we grow. The seed quality is everything โ€” bad seeds mean low germination, mold issues, and wasted trays. After trying multiple sources, Mumm's Sprouting Seeds is the one we keep reordering from.

Mumm's Sprouting Seeds โ€” sprouting.com

Jim and Maggie Mumm started farming organically in 1974 in Saskatchewan. Today Mumm's is one of the most respected sources for certified organic sprouting and microgreen seeds in North America. Every lot is tested for germination before it ships.

We grow their radish, sunflower, pea shoot, and broccoli seeds in our microgreens operation. Consistent germination rates, clean flavor, and zero issues with mold when you're following proper tray protocol.

Varieties We Grow

๐ŸŒฑ

Radish

Fast (5โ€“7 days), spicy, bright pink stems. Our best seller at market. High-margin crop.

๐ŸŒป

Sunflower

Crunchy, nutty, substantial. Pairs with everything. Takes 10โ€“12 days but commands premium price.

๐Ÿซ›

Pea Shoots

Sweet, tender, high visual appeal. Great for restaurants. 10โ€“14 days.

๐Ÿฅฆ

Broccoli

High sulforaphane content. Popular with health-conscious buyers. 7โ€“9 days.

๐ŸŒพ

Wheat Grass

Juicing staple. Fast turnaround, strong repeat demand from juice bar clients.

๐Ÿซ˜

Lentil Sprouts

No tray needed โ€” jar sprouts in 3โ€“4 days. Zero overhead, great margins.

Hawaii note: Microgreens grow year-round in Waimanalo with zero heating costs. The main challenge is humidity and mold โ€” good airflow and a fan solves it. Our greenhouse stays at the right temp 12 months a year without any equipment.

Why Seed Quality Matters

You might find cheaper seeds online. The problem is that low-quality or untested sprouting seeds have inconsistent germination and higher contamination risk. With microgreens, you're eating the seed coat โ€” food safety matters. Mumm's tests every lot. That's why we pay a little more and don't stress about it.

Starting Your Microgreens Setup

If you're growing microgreens for the first time, start with radish. It's the fastest, most forgiving, and gives you the clearest feedback on your tray setup, watering, and light. Once you nail radish, every other variety is easier.
