Seeds We Grow With

Organic, non-GMO, heirloom seeds we've vetted and use on the farm. No fluff — just what works in Hawaiʻi.

Every seed we recommend here is organic and non-GMO. After growing on 3.7 acres in Waimanalo, we've learned which seed sources are consistent and which ones disappoint. These are the companies we keep coming back to.

Seed Saving in Hawaiʻi

One of the biggest advantages of heirloom and open-pollinated seeds is that you can save them year after year. In Hawaii's climate, many plants will go to seed faster than on the mainland — plan for it. Let a few of your best-performing plants go to full maturity and dry seed before harvesting the rest. Over time, your saved seeds will adapt to your specific microclimate.

We save seeds from our best loofah, tomato, cucumber, and herb plants every season. It cuts input costs significantly and builds a seed stock that's genuinely adapted to Waimanalo's conditions.
